Scientific Programme

IUIS 2022 will cover many different areas of basic, translational and clinical immunology. It is our aim to significantly extend the knowledge of all delegates – from those who are in the early stages of their career to globally renowned key opinion leaders.

The Congress topics evolve from 4 core themes:

Session Formats

Keynote Lectures

The 3 hour-long Keynote lectures from world-renowned experts in the field kick off the IUIS Congress and set the tone for the Congress by addressing major themes of interest to the society and its members. In 2019, IUIS proudly welcomed Peter Doherty, Jules Hoffman, and Tasuku Honjo to deliver these prestigious talks.

Plenary

Plenary sessions are stand-alone sessions that feature 3 in-depth presentations of 40 minutes each. Featuring leading lecturers, these are some of the highlight sessions in the IUIS programme that draw together diverse global experts to discuss burning topics in the field of immunology.

Major Symposia

The 12 Major Symposia are composed of 4 Presentations of ½ hour each. These 2-hour sessions also arise from the abstract categories and comprise experts who give targeted talks to deepen our understanding of crucial aspects of the IUIS mandate.

Symposia

The Symposia form a large and crucial part of the IUIS programme. Each session is composed of between 3 and 5 Presentations of ½ hour each that delve deep into the various categories that make up the IUIS field of interest. The sessions intentionally group international faculty from all corners of the globe to deliver their contrasting perspectives and experiences on wide-ranging themes.

Mini-Symposia

A crucial aspect of IUIS congresses is bringing new voices into the community. Our mini-symposia feature 8 presentations of 10 minutes each, which are drawn from the top-rated abstract submissions. Excellent abstracts submitted in over 40 categories ensure that each IUIS Congress offers new perspectives and the latest science from our members around the world.

Special Sessions

Special sessions are composed of Guest Symposia and adjacent topics of interest to professional researchers in the IUIS community.
